By canceling the meeting and insulting the MEPs, Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Janša has caused an international diplomatic scandal.
It resonated especially when he labeled some as “Soros puppets,” a well-known anti-Semitic conspiracy theory. Europe condemns his statements, and there are many assessments that he is ready to sacrifice the country's reputation for his own political interests.
